IUPAP Young Scientist Prize in Biological Physics
Two prizes, one for theory/simulation, and one for experiment.
CRITERIA FOR SELECTION
The recipient should have performed original work of outstanding scientific quality in biological physics. Eligible candidates would have had up to 8 years of research after receiving their Ph.D degree (excluding career interruptions).
PRESENTATION
The two prizes are bestowed on the occasion of the International Symposium on Biological Physics, which takes place every three years under the auspices of the IUPAP.
NOMINATION PROCEDURE
Anyone who is not a member of the selection committee may submit one
nomination in any given year. Self nominations will not be considered.
Nominations are to be made to the Chair of Commission 6 no later than
three months before the International Symposium on Biological Physics.
They should include:
- a letter of not more than 1,000 words evaluating nominee's achievements,
- a brief biographical sketch,
- a list of the most important publications and up to five reprints/preprints.
SELECTION COMMITTEE
The selection committee consist of the committee members of C-6.
TYPE OF AWARD
Prize money $1000, a medal and a certificate by IUPAP.
